“Pastors are black wolves in Pakistan.”
Yes — I said it. It’s a tough, harsh statement. But sometimes, truth needs to be spoken even when it’s uncomfortable… even when it cuts.
I didn’t want to write this. Honestly, I struggled with it. It would be easier to stay quiet and not touch this topic. But silence allows darkness to grow. And when the Church starts to rot from the inside, somebody has to stand up and say something — even if it’s unpopular, even if it makes enemies.
Because the truth is — in many places across Pakistan — the pastoral ministry has drifted far from the teachings of Christ. It’s not about love, truth, or sacrifice anymore. It has become a business. A way to live comfortably at the cost of others’ suffering. A tool to manipulate emotions and extract money — not to feed the flock, but to feed egos, lifestyles, and wallets.
What’s Really Happening?
Let me walk you through something I’ve personally witnessed and heard from countless believers:
These days, when someone wants to host a simple Sunday service, prayer meeting, or seminar — instead of asking, “How can we prepare our hearts?” the first questions are:
-
“What food will be served to the people?”
-
“How much offering will the pastors get?”
That’s right. Before there’s any talk about the Word of God or souls being saved, it’s all about food and money.
And when you ask why, the answer you’ll hear is something like:
“Sir, people won’t attend if there’s no food.”
“Madam, the pastors are coming from far away. They should be honored.”
Now of course, we’re not against hospitality. The Bible teaches us to bless others and serve one another in love. But hospitality is not a ticket to manipulate people. And it definitely isn’t a way to pressure believers into handing over money just to be heard.
What’s worse? Even when someone generous and sincere says, “I’ll cover all the food and travel expenses,” certain pastors still show up with fancy mobile phones, take pictures of the crowd and food, and later use those pictures to beg for donations overseas.
These aren’t memories of God’s work — they’re marketing material.
And behind those photos is a message they send abroad:
“Look at our revival… please help fund the ministry.”
But in truth, nothing happened. No deep spiritual breakthrough. No outreach. Just a staged show — a “photo-op” with rice plates and innocent faces, designed to trick kind-hearted people into giving.
The Wolves Are No Longer Hiding
Let’s stop pretending like this is rare. It’s not. Many people now recognize the difference between a true servant of God and someone who’s just using the Church for profit.
And it breaks my heart to say this — but I’ve met men who could’ve earned a decent, honest living. They’re smart, capable, skilled. They could work a job, run a business, or serve their communities in meaningful ways. But instead, they chose the easy route: become a “pastor.”
Why? Because in our communities, that title brings respect — and money.
They don’t have to answer to anyone. They can twist verses however they like. They know people are too afraid or too uneducated to question them. And so, they preach not because they’re called, but because they’re comfortable.
And sadly… many poor believers suffer under this.
These so-called leaders feed off the faith of the weak. They:
-
Send their children to elite schools, while the congregation’s kids struggle to buy books.
-
Build beautiful homes while their churches have leaky roofs.
-
Drive new cars while members walk miles to attend service.
-
Collect endless offerings while never giving back.
Some even have the nerve to go door to door — not to pray, not to share the gospel, but to collect donations, in envelopes and boxes, quoting Scripture along the way. They don’t carry the love of Christ — they carry a sales pitch.
And It Doesn’t Stop There…
If you think that’s bad — it gets worse.
-
Need a birth certificate for your child? You might be asked for a bribe.
-
Getting married in the church? You’ll need to “donate” thousands for a simple certificate.
-
Lost a loved one? Even at funerals and memorial services, pastors collect offerings.
There is no pause. No respect for sacred moments. Even in death and sorrow — the wolves are feeding.
This is the spiritual state of many churches today. And it’s heartbreaking.
Jesus didn’t come to build an empire.
He came to serve, to save, to sacrifice.
He flipped the tables in the temple — He didn’t sit behind them collecting cash.
And yet, many modern pastors do the exact opposite.
The Word of God Speaks Clearly
God is not blind to what’s happening. His Word is full of warnings about false shepherds:
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
— Matthew 23:14 (KJV)
How much clearer could it be?
And still — people fall for it. Many believers are too trusting, too afraid, or too blinded by the glitter of titles, suits, and silver-tongued sermons. They don’t ask questions. They don’t seek fruit. They just follow — and end up trapped.
A Final Appeal
Please understand — this message isn’t meant to shame anyone. It’s not meant to attack the whole Church. I know there are still real pastors in Pakistan. Humble, sincere, God-fearing men and women who truly love the Lord and His people. And to them, I say — thank you. Keep going. Don’t lose heart.
But this message is a wake-up call:
-
To the wolves: You may wear the clothes of a shepherd, but God sees your heart. Repent before it’s too late.
-
To the people: Open your eyes. Learn the Word. Don’t follow someone just because they have a microphone.
-
To fellow evangelists and ministers: Let’s restore the dignity of the ministry. Let’s hold each other accountable. Let’s preach the gospel — not profit.
Let Us Return to Jesus
The Church is not a money-making scheme.
Ministry is not a career ladder.
The Word of God is not a product for sale.
Let us return to the pure, original gospel — where:
-
Love is free
-
Truth is spoken boldly
-
Leaders serve, not rule
-
Ministry is about souls, not salaries
In the end, we will all stand before God. Titles won’t matter. Suits won’t matter. Offerings won’t matter. Only the truth will stand.
So let’s fix our eyes on Christ — the true Shepherd — and follow His example, not the twisted version that’s spreading in His name.
